Pop Culture Art (Beatles) by Rich Pellegrino
One of my recurring subjects in my art is people, and this artist uses so many unique and interesting techniques that give these paintings interest, mood, and meaning. I hope to incorporate similar methods in order to show the viewer more than just a face on a canvas, but also my intentions in creating it.
"Shoot the Moon" by Cyril Rolando
When I first saw this piece while looking for inspiration, the balance and contrast of this piece immediately stuck out to me, and I knew I had to include this artwork on my page. The contrast of the whale and ocean against the yellow sky on the bottom half versus the contrast of the bright moon and stars in the dark sky in the top half, all tied together with the boat in the center, really created a sense of good balance and unity.
Off Proffit Road 2012 by Julia Kindred
One technique that really stood out to me in this piece was the atmospheric perspective; the background of the piece is less saturated and blurrier to show depth, but it still connects to the soft mid and foregrounds. I really liked the mood of this piece with the textures and colors the artist used, and I feel like I can apply some of the same methods in my art to create a similar, comforting feeling that I felt while looking at this painting.
Faceless XXIII by Nika Rouss
I picked this piece for inspiration just because it's SUPER pretty. The painting techniques that Rouss uses are amazing, and the abstract nature of the artwork is what really drew me to it.
Thor by Vera De Gernier
While searching for inspiration, I knew I wanted to find at least one example of mixed media or a college to hopefully draw some ideas from. I already love Marvel, and this artwork, especially the collage element, looked really cool.
